- Similar to January, the model simulates the height and evolution of the nocturnal jet core, which is around 500 m. During the day, the WRF PXACM reproduces the changes in the wind speed profile during the transition from the stable to convective PBL (1300–1800 UTC). At around 2100 UTC, the observed mean wind speed profile has a near-constant wind speed layer from the surface to 1800–1900 m, a result of strong vertical mixing in the convective boundary layer.
