The measurement instrument for this research consisted of a three-part questionnaire and structured clinical vignettes. The first part of the questionnaire consisted of five questions: three short answer questions and two multipl questions. This first part assessed the nurses theoretical knowledge about in older adults. The second part contained five case studies concerning dementia, depression or delirium in older adults. Each of these five structured clinical vignettes was followed by a multiple-choice question that determined whether the nurse had assessed the situation correctly. At the end of the questionnaire sociodemographic data about the respondents was collected; data such as age, gender, level of education, training, continuing education courses, training in geriatrics, years of experience in in-home support services, and the number of years experience in geriatrics.
