Research is a systematic inquiry that investigates hypotheses, suggests new interpretations of data or texts, and poses new questions for future research to explore.
Research can be divided into categories according to the research. Considering the nature of the data and can be divided into two categories:
- Qualitative research is a research strategy that usually emphasizes on words rather than quantification in the collection and analysis of data. In business, there are three common types of qualitative study as follow
• Grounded theory is a qualitative research technique which aims toward theory development.
• Ethnography theory is the systematic study peoples and cultures.
• Phenomenology is the study of structures of consciousness as experienced from the first-person point of view.
- Quantitative research is explaining problems by collecting numerical data that are analyzed using mathematic. In quantitative research, there are two main type of study.
• Experimental is a form of study design used to test cause-and-effect relationships between variables.
• Survey Study involves the collection of information from a sample of individuals through their response to questions.
On this research, we use quantitative research which is easy to study without having to learn too deep. And we choose the survey study because we learned on the summer semester we have little time for research.
