2.2.3. Third experiment: studying systemic and persistent
effect of the fungicides
Plants were inoculated 5, 10 or 15 days after fungicide application
(d.a.f.a.) and incubated as indicate above. In all cases only the
first and second leaves were fungicide treated. Fungicides were
applied at the lowest concentration found effective in experiment 1.
The upper leaves were covered with aluminium paper to avoid any
contact with the fungicides. Four replicates, of one plant each per
treatment were performed. Disease assessment was made 12 daysafter inoculation by counting the number of pustules/cm2 in fourth
or fifth leaves which had not been fungicide treated.
