The IJJO, an ambitious endeavour that promotes an international and interdisciplinary approach to issues related to juvenile justice, aims to create a future for minors and young people all over the world who are in situations of exclusion leading to infringements of the law. The Foundation offers to create a permanent international service which functions as a place for meeting, work and reflection for professionals working in the fields of law, psychology, medicine, sociology, teaching, criminology and education. Also, it promotes international development strategies of appropriate policies, legislations and intervention methods within the context of a global juvenile justice without borders. With the aim of becoming closer to national realities and needs, the IJJO has set up regional branches for Europe, Africa, Latin-America and Asia-Pacific. In each continent, the IJJO has set up a Council for Juvenile Justice, as a continental think tank composed of representatives of public administrations, universities and civil society involved in juvenile justice. In 2012, the IJJO created the Asia Pacific Council for Juvenile Justice, which is composed of members affiliated to the IJJO and originating from across the region.
