4. Conclusion
The output of this study demonstrates the feasibility of the phytoremediation of Chlorella sp. in treating the aquaculture wastewater. Different inoculation volume (v/v) of Chlorella sp. were found to have influence on the rate of nutrient removal. However, the concentration of Chlorella sp. inoculation exceeding the optimum dosage of 30% (v/v) had decreased the nutrient removal efficiency. The co-cultivation approach used to control the population of microalgae (Chlorella sp.) with sewage fungus (A.niger) was proved successful. The fungus was able to remove the suspended microalgae biomass without producing any harmful bio-degradative enzymes in the process.
