2.3.5. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy
Dried samples were pressed in the diamond cell from one
reflection, horizontal ATR (Golden Gate, Specac). Fourier
transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) spectra of the
polysaccharides (precipitated by ethanol) were obtained at a
resolution of 8 cm–1and 128 scans were accumulated before
Fourier transformation. Spectra were recorded at the absorbance
mode from 4000 to 500 cm–1 in a Bruker IFS-55 spectrometer.
