Embedded strain gauges are being more commonly used at accelerated loading facilities as a way to
quantify the mechanistic responses occurring during pavement loading. These measured responses
are helping bridge the gap between the mechanistic and empirical portions of M-E design. For this
purpose, it is important to identify a suitable technique for evaluating the reliability of strain
measurements.
