Raymond F. Hoad received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater in 1971 and 1973, respectively. After four years in the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Hoad joined TU Electric, Fort Worth, as a System Protection Engineer. He then served as a Distribution Planning Engineer for twelve years with the responsibility of planning and designing overhead, underground, and network distribution systems. Mr. Hoad rejoined the System Protection group in 1991. He is currently a Consulting Engineer-Relay at TXU Electric Delivery, System Protection group with responsibility for transmission line protection, relay settings, and fault analysis. He has been involved with the testing and evaluation of High Impedance Fault detection equipment since 1993. Mr. Hoad is an active IEEE Power Society member and a Registered Professional Engineer in the States of Oklahoma and Texas.
