so far, cyberbullying research has used either qualitative methods such as focus groups and interviews of adolescents or quantitative survey methods. These methods are well-suited to gather deep insights into adolescents' perspective on cyberbullying as well as representative data on the prevalence of cyberbullying and the relation between cyberbullying and potential risk and protective factors. However, these methods do not allow for conclusions about the causality. Therefore, we chose a more experimental approach to directly address the conceptual issues of interest.
