Today the United Nations estimates that
more than 6 billion people have access to a working mobile
phone and over 90% of the population is covered by a mobile
network [6]. Even there are many parts of the world that are
book-poor, they are becoming mobile-phone rich. For the first
time in history, there are more mobile phones and tablets on the
planet than there are people. Due to their utility, ease-of-use
and affordability, these devices are well-placed to expand
educational opportunities for learners in diverse contexts,
including areas where traditional educational resources are
scarce.
