Larvae of all fruit Xy species were obtained from mass
rearing stock maintained at ICIPE. The larvae were
reared on a carrot and sugar based artiWcial diet
(Hooper, 1987) and adult Xies were maintained on a
mixture of sugar (3 parts) and commercial enzymatic
yeast hydrolysate (1 part) based artiWcial diet. The parasitoids
were reared on their respective host at ICIPE
according to the technique described by Mohamed
(2003) and Mohamed et al. (2003).
