2.5. Export entrepreneurship and export performance
Previous research shows that the exporting firm's international scope, according to number of countries in which the firm operates, affects EP (e.g., Ruzo et al., 2011). Therefore, those exporting firms that diversify their markets–commercializing products and/or services simultaneously in multiple countries–usually achieve better results than those whose international scope has more limitations. Other studies show that the development of accelerated internationalization processes–usually indicative of a greater organization internationalization and a more entrepreneurial view of international business–positively affects firms' performance in foreign markets (e.g., Kuivalainen et al., 2012, Powell, 2014 and Zahra et al., 2000). Some authors also indicate that organization's exporting orientation positively affects EP. Thus, those organizations whose managers actively search for business opportunities in foreign markets show a greater exporting orientation, usually have higher sales, profit, etc., and have a greater satisfaction with EP than those having lower international orientation (Ibeh, 2004 and Nemkova et al., 2012). Summarizing, these arguments support a positive relationship that may exist between EE level and firms' performance in foreign markets.
According to this idea, this study states the following hypothesis.
H5.
EE positively affects EP level.
