A good health status is very important for two reasons.
Healthy animals are efficient producers. Disease costs
energy. A healthy flock brings profit. Secondly, we produce
high quality food which is safe for human consumption,
free from pathogens and other contaminations.
There are three different kinds of disease threats.
• Notifiable diseases like avian influenza and
Newcastle disease must be kept away from birds.
• Normal poultry pathogens are controlled, mainly
through vaccinations. We vaccinate against all kind
of poultry pathogens to keep our flocks healthy, to
minimize losses and to achieve good and efficient
production results.
• The third category is food borne pathogens;
salmonella is the most important one.
