At MSC we aim to be a leader in the development of biodiversity and the protection of aquatic life
at sea and in ports.
. We encourage dialogue with all stakeholders, including environmental authorities and nature
conservation organisations.
. We encourage the increase of biodiversity in the worldfs seas. Where necessary we act together
with authorities and organisations to protect local biotopes.
. We pro-actively manage our operational business systems to promote the protection of aquatic
life and areas where our ships are operating.
. We always prioritise safety, health and environmental concerns during disaster recovery
operations. In the environmental part of the operation we will actively emphasise protection of
the soil and subsoil and the avoidance of any contamination of sea, ground or surface water.

PROTECTING THE CLIMATE
At MSC we work continuously to minimise our greenhouse gas emissions and deliver solutions
for innovation that will improve climate change impacts.
. We minimize our CO. emissions by promoting energy efficiency, by using low sulphur fuels,
by using new energy efficient technology and by improving our supply chain services and
logistical networks.
. These day-to-day actions enable us to minimize the CO. emissions inherent in the services
we deliver to our customers.
. We strive to help prevent the detrimental consequences of climate change by protecting
people, property and the environment.
