During my past working experience in multi-cultural institution, there was an incident, the meaning of which became clearer after completing the Insights toolkits. I worked as an officer in the logistic section. My responsibilities were to prepare all the documents for customers. At the beginning of my period working in this company, I was under pressure to work with multi-cultural groups. Because I did not yet understand their culture very well, indeed, their behaviour when they were working. So that I used the opportunity to develop my knowledge about their culture. There is an incident that I and my Japanese co-workers cannot negotiate some problems. This led to an argument between me and a Japanese co-worker. Moreover, when we were arguing, one Japanese colleague was shouting at me because of misunderstanding. This made me experience uncontrolled emotion but I was able to pass through it.
Additionally, when working with many people in an organization, we might need to be considerate about their emotions. It seems that, we are a different culture and with different behaviour which can be related to emotion. For me, the most important aspect of working in a multi-cultural environment is communication.
