Chemo is finished for this week! Since I have a port implanted under the skin on my chest, chemo begins with a yellow contraption with a big-@$$ needle affixed to it that gets shoved hard through my skin and into the port. Blood is drawn through the port, then saline is infused into it to flush out the catheters while the blood work is being analyzed, then for one hour the new Taxol chemotherapy cocktail is infused. The side effects during the Taxol infusion were way easier on me today than last week when I had wildly involuntary leg movements, monstrous lower back pain and more. Today it was just slight back pain and mild leg movements. So perhaps they will have dissipated all together by next week's appointment. Adventures in Chemotherapy! (Shout out to oncology nurse Jennifer who starred in two of the three photos.)
