This report summaries a recent survey of managers revealed the effects of stress on organizations and annual cost of absenteeism per employee to small businesses in the last five years to the present.
The most effect of stress in the workplace is increased absenteeism. It is 76% of managers. Absenteeism is an employee absence from work. People miss their work for a variety of reasons which are reasonable and unreasonable. This effect increase annual cost of absenteeism per employee in small businesses. For less than 100 employees, it is increase from €250 to €320 in the last five years to the present. For between 100 and 249 employees, it is increase from €310 to €510 in the last five years to the present.
Work-related stress also gives rise to decreased productivity, it is 71% of managers, poor judgement and poor quality, it is 54% of each, poor customer care, it is 41% of managers, high staff turn over, it is 31% of managers, lack of creativity, it is 31% of managers and the last is more accidents, it is 30% of managers.
In conclusion, the two bar charts show a major effect of stress, that is increased absenteeism, risen the annual cost of absenteeism per employee. Stress causes absenteeism to increase cost a lot of money. It is a big problem in organizations.
