Developing a partnership
Bayswater North Primary School (BNPS) is a medium sized primary school of 490 students, in a lower socio-economic community. The school is situated in an area of Community Renewal which is funded by the State Department of Planning and Community Development. Community Renewal programs target neighborhoods in areas experiencing growth or decline, or facing difficulties such as falling employment, poor access to services or run down community facilities. Community Renewal is part of A Fairer Victoria, the Victorian Government’s $1.6 billion plan to address disadvantage and create opportunities for stronger, more resilient communities (19).
