Most shops open at 9.00 a.m. and close at 5.30 p.m. Some big shops in the centre of London close later. They don’t normally close for lunch.
There are 300 different departments in Harrod’s and one of the most famous is the food hall. But you can’t take photos.
The biggest toy shop in London is Hamleys. There are 7 floors with everything from traditional toys to high-tech computer games and robots.
Covent Garden is now famous for its cafes, small shops and street artists. But in the past, it was a big fruit and vegetable market.
To find cheap prices and good discounts, go to the January Sales. But remember they usually start at the end of December and some people sleep in front of the stores to be the first shopper!
