It was useful to make contacts within the different
departments so that the librarian could identify
champions and more crucially Team Knowledge
Officers (TKOs). The establishment of TKOs was
recommended in a report by Peter Hill.13 It suggested
that there should be named individuals in
each department within a hospital organisation
who would help to ensure the input of evidence
for patient care. The identification and appointment
of TKOs was subsequently adopted as part of
WHL’s Knowledge Management Strategy.
