OBSE. OBSE is defined as the degree to which an individual believes
him/herself to be capable, significant, and worthy as an organizational member
(Pierce et al., 1989). In the TPB, control belief comes from prior experience,
personal abilities and external obstacles (Ajzen, 1991). When people believe
themselves to be important and competent, or if they see themselves as being able to
influence others within their employing organization, they are likely to have a high
level of control perception. Therefore, OBSE has been proposed as another
mechanism of voice behavior1.
