Time-resolved dynamic light scattering (DLS) technique
has recently gained increasing popularity and it has
been considered as a most promising technique for
measuring the size of various colloidal particles including
clay colloids (Holthoff et al., 1996; Kretzschmar et
al., 1998; Missana et al., 2003). In the DLS, the particle
size is related to the intensity-weighted average translational
diffusion coefficient (D) of the colloidal particles.
