2.2. Preparation of PLLA/NR blends
Before blending, PLA particles were dried in vacuum oven at 80 C for 24 h and the Natural Rubber latex was dried in vacuum oven at 40 C until it was transparent completely. The PLA and PLA/NR blends were processed at 60 rpm, 170 C in a Haake internalmixer (Rheocord 90) for 10 min. The well mixed blends were cut into small granules while they were hot. The samples with 0, 1, 3 and 5 wt% NR were labeled as PLA, PLA/NR-1, PLA/NR-3 and PLA/NR-5. The melt mixed samples were then pressed into 0.2 mm thick films under 10 MPa pressure for 2 min at 190 C, followed by cooling process at room temperature for 3 min under the same pressure.
