Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR), a copolymer of styrene and
butadiene, is a synthetic rubber which is widely used all over the
world. Different ratios of styrene and butadiene are being used
for different applications, but the ratio of 23.5% styrene and
76.5% butadiene is the most commonly used one for general purpose
rubbers. The major areas of consumption of SBR are in tire
industry, automotive industry and in the production of technical
parts, cable insulation material, shoe sole, mat, hose, etc.
