Flasks of 125 mL with 100 mL of medium were used for
fermentation assays. The fermentation media were prepared
according to Table 3, in triplicate. The inoculation rate was
fixed in 10%. The fermentations were performed at the incubator
(30 C) during 18 h, and for those tests with initial aerobic
phase, the flasks were placed at a shaker (12.6 rad s-1, 30 C) to
be agitated for the desired time, then they were transferred to
an incubator to complete the total fermentation time.
