To overcome solubility problem of POSS nanocages in aqueous system, a small amount of dioxane was added in the system to promote solubility and homogeneity of the sys-tem. Then the precipitates of regenerated and chemically modified chicken feather keratin (MCF) were separated by centrifugation and washed extensively with distilled water first and then with organic solvent suitable to completely remove unreacted modifiers. The MCF were dried at 50◦C in oven and ground into powder for their application as potential biosorbent. Some possible reaction routes in chemical modification are shown in Scheme 1
