My chase partner, James Reynolds, just returned to areas devastated by Super Typhoon HAIYAN (YOLANDA). He took this dramatic picture in Guiuan, where the cyclone's eye first came ashore-- and where the most-intense, Category-5 winds probably occurred. James had the privilege to talk with a PAGASA representative in Guiuan. They measured a spectacular 910 mb before the barometer was destroyed by water-- and the PAGASA rep estimates the pressure probably dropped to the 890s! James, Mark Thomas, and I will be returning to Tacloban City in February to document the recovery and reunite with other survivors. More on that
