the feasibility of providing electricity by a smallscale
hybrid energy system consist of solar PV/wind/biogas/diesel
in remote areas in India and Bangladesh has been explored in two
different studies. HOMER has been used as a tool to perform the
optimization and to find the most feasible solution in both studies.
The results show that using locally produced biogas to drive a
backup engine is a viable solution for remote and isolated area and
the integrated system has higher feasibility compared to the grid
extension.
