Minerbi, as part of a paper for the Greenpeace Pacific Campaign, recorded a number of environmental and ecological impacts associated with tourism development on Pacific islands (Table 1) [47]. The range of tourism-related impacts is similar to that for many other environments [48–50]. However, in the case of Pacific, tourism impact may be more problematic due to the tendency for tourism development and tourists to concentrate on or near the ecologically and geomorphologically dynamic coastal environment.
