In the 1998 season, a decrease in fruit set occurred
when 500 or 750 ppm PDJ was applied to the whole
trees at 18 or 14 DBFB. The fruit set percentage of PDJ
treatments was 14–21, compared to that of the control
which was 35 at 32 DAFB. The percentage of fruit set
in the control decreased drastically during 5 and 15
DAFB. The decrease became slightly less between 15
and 32 DAFB. Fruit set percentage showed a similar
pattern between PDJ treated and control clusters, though
the set degree was quite different between them (Fig. 3).
