(Fig. 3A), whereas the treatment group showed a changed
form of morphology such as general lysis of cytoplasm
(Fig. 3B and E), lysis of cell wall (Fig. 3C and D) and cellular
swelling (Fig. 3F). Lysis of cell wall was observed
mainly on end or middle of the cell.
On scanning electron microscope observation, it was
found that there was no any change in the morphology
of the control group strains of L. monocytogenes
(Fig. 4A), whereas treatment group showed partial sinking
or destruction in the morphology (Fig. 4B–I), swelling at
end point with lysis of cell wall (Fig. 4B), partially distorted
shape (Fig. 4B–F), pore formation (Fig. 4G and H), and
empty cell inside (Fig. 4I). During observation of morphological
damages by SEM, cell wall lysis was detected in the
middle or at the end point of the cell, but cell wall pore formation
was only observed on both terminal ends of the cell
(Fig. 4G and H).
