This figure is sitting in a yogic posture, much as Śiva has historically been depicted.
Also, he may have three faces, and certainly a three-horned headdress, which some have seen as a parallel to the three-headed form of Śiva in Hindu art.
This figure is also surrounded by animals, which some have read to indicate the Lord of Animals or Paśupati, a common form in which Śiva is known.
However, because the Harāppan Civilization is still only incompletely known, this identification with Śiva remains a matter of debate.
