For this paper 604 students’ scripts were used. 166
from junior schools (JS), 242 from senior schools
(132 from single science (SS) and 110 from pure
science (SP)), 196 from college (100 science majors
(CS) and 96 non-science majors (CH)). For each of
the groups chosen, the questionnaire was administered
to whole class units in the same manner across
school types. Students were initially given 30
minutes to complete the questionnaire and were
given more time when they needed it.
