Additionally, we conducted a pattern type (runs, trills) × pattern presentation (1–10) repeated measures ANOVA to compare performance across pattern type and pattern repetitions. This analysis revealed a significant main effect of pattern presentation (F(1,9) = 3.92, p < 0.001). However, the analysis did not reveal a significant main effect of pattern type or a pattern type × pattern presentation interaction at the α < 0.05 level. This pattern of results suggests that the humans did significantly improve in their performance of the runs and trills patterns over the course of the experiment, but no evidence was found for significantly differential performance between patterns.
