Two vehicles were broken into in the car park of Ban Ya restaurant on Tiwanont road in Muang district.
The first was a Toyota Altis belonging to Thada Jenpithakchart, 63, a former Krungthai Bank manager. Mr Thada and 14 relatives were at the restaurant for a birthday party.
A rear windown of the car was smashed open. Stolen from the car were an i-Pad, 3,000 baht in cash, and 12 cheques due for payment on Sept 16.
The second was a Honda Civic owned by Purita Thanachoksophon, a lawyer. Two notebook computers were stolen.
The theft took place at around 10pm.
At about the same time, a rear window of a Toyota van parked at the parking lot of Nittaya Kai Yang restaurant on Rattanathibet road was smashed and some valuables stolen.
Earlier on Saturday afternoon, a car parked in front of a porridge shop on Rattanathibet road and another car parked in a soi off Tiwanont road also had their windows broken and valuables stolen.
