Manulife Desktop Hard Disk Encryption Project will start from end of September onwards. ML Singapore will be the pilot country to have this exercise started.
In a nutshell, this project will protect all desktop data in Manulife environment by encrypting them with Check Point solution. The roll out is an automatic deployment using SCCM managed by GIS via CSC.
Prior to the roll out, there are several tests to be executed on selected desktops. In addition, check disk will be run on the hard disk via automated mode a few weeks prior to actual roll out. This is to ensure a smooth deployment. The project team will soon be sharing with us on the approach detail and other information - e.g. deployment in batches.
Before the roll out, users are strongly encouraged to save their important documents (business information) on the server (which is backed-up daily) - based on our document classification MFC-STA-001. E.g. "restricted" and "regulated" information. No personal information should be kept on the desktop. Users are able to access "public" and "internal" classification information as they wish to.
This email is just to touch base with you and will continue to share project plans ahead of deployment to business which includes the do’s and don'ts of this deployment as well as expectations for the preparation before, during and after encryption.
Please feel free to contact your GIS BRM (Erick Hilario) or local GIS EUS (Punnakorn Somnoi) for any questions.
