The change in curricular envisioned here is of the
magnitude echoed by Sadler et al (2004), where the
whole school system is revamped including teacher
education programs. In-service programs should also
address this way of learning and address science literacy
in the process. This is because science literacy
is a big part of this change. It is by no means suggested
that this will be achieved over night, the sooner
it is started though, the better. The challenges that
will face modern societies of tomorrow will be even
more complicated; the increased incidences of diverse
manners of socioscientific issues make this
realisation real.
