(e.g., guesthouses, motels) In an effort to keep up with Vietnam's growing tourist market, accommodation capacity in Vietnam has been rapidly expanding at more than 16 percent per annum over the last five years. By the end of 2006, Vietnam had 142,600 hotel rooms. By June of 2007, only six months later, capacity had grown a further 20 percent, to 170,600 rooms, of which 109,544 were standard or classified hotel rooms.
