Browning was assessed as per the following scale: 0 = no browning (excellent qual-ity); 1 = slight browning; 2 = 1/3 browning (poor quality) (Kumaret al., 2013). Finally, the browning index was calculated by multi-plying the number of litchi fruit in a group with their respectivescore, summing the products and dividing by the total number offruits.
