Participants performed a cycling and a running incremental exhaustive test in a counterbalanced
order, 1 week apart, to determine lactate threshold (LT) and VO2peak for each exercise mode (see Table 1).
Subsequent measurements associated with two counterbalanced, 10- minute cycling and running exercise bouts at individual LT were recorded at baseline, and then at 24 and 48 hours after the lower limb resistance exercise (see Fig. 1). All participants were asked to refrain from any strenuous exercise 24 hours prior to each test, maintain their normal diet, and avoid using any analgesic agents.
