Yamaguchi University encourages and promotes originality and creativity in research thereby creating new knowledge and intellectual property. While respecting and recognizing individualism and diversity of research and utilizing the flexible research organization only a university possesses, Yamaguchi University continues to conduct cutting-edge, innovative research. Through international communication and cooperation, the University continues to meet the demands of the society and region. While ensuring the supply of basic research funds required to conduct research effectively, Yamaguchi University actively assists and encourages in obtaining external funding. The University also supports excellent research projects. The Education Promoting Center was established in April 2002. The objective of the Center is to enhance and to improve the overall educational activities being carried out at the University by implementing the evaluation system to the University. The Center also plays an essential role to strengthen the linkage between general education and faculty education and to develop a new and unique education system for the Yamaguchi University. Others relating to overall higher education With the wide range of all human science studies, the graduate School of Humanities endeavors to conduct research in various fields and to train students to be well qualified professionals. Students carry out their research from diverse angles with adequate supervision from more several academic supervisors. Established in 1958 the graduate school of medicine has been reorganized over time to meet the rapid advances in medical science. The new structure formed in 2006 offers applied molecular bioscience, applied medical science and a Masters’s/Doctoral course, formed as an alliance of the graduate school of Science and engineering and the graduate school of agriculture.
