This coin has a diameter of 24mm, and is about the size of an American Nickel. It was first minted in 1988, with some minor changes to its thickness and weight, in 2009. This coin is composed of nickel and copper, and is worth five Thai Baht, which is about .16 American Dollars. The image on the obverse side of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, was designed by Supab Aun-aree, as well as the image of Wat Benchamabophit, or the Marble Temple on the reverse side. The coin is stamped on both side to give the impression that it is nonagonal, or nine-sided.
