In the current study, the identical strain was serotyped
as Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Infantis
(S. Infantis). The isolation of S. Infantis from chicken carcasses
and/or chicken parts has been reported by some
other researchers . In Finland, serotype Infantis has
been the most common serovar in poultry and the third
most common in humans after those caused by the serovars
Enteritidis and Typhimurium . Furthermore, several outbreaks
linked to S. Infantis infection have also been reported
