3.7. Ethnic differences
As stated before, the odds of 12-month BPD were significantly
higher among Indians. Among those with 12-month BPD, there
were significant differences in age at interview, YMRS score and
days out of role in the past 365 day among different ethnicities.
We found Malays and Indians were younger than Chinese at the
point of interview and had higher YMRS scores than the Chinese.
Indians also reported significantly higher days out role as compared to the Chinese and Malays (Table 4). There were no
significant differences in the rates of lifetime treatment contact
among the three ethnic groups.
