3.2. Effect of selected plant extracts on crown rot disease of banana friut
Since the experiments were repeated twice with no significant difference (P > 0.05) between the experiments, the results were combined and analyzed as a single experiment.
The results of the analyses of the experiments showed that dipping of banana fruits in aqueous leaf extract of Zimmu greatly reduced the crown rot disease of banana under both room and cold storage conditions compared to control and other treatments (Table 2). The reduction of crown rot severity was 86 and 100% at room storage (up to12 days of incubation) and cold storage (up to 35 days of incubation) conditions respectively.
