With plant growth and fruit development, the dynamic changes of fructose and glucose contents in Solanum chmielewskii fruits were not obvious, and always lower than those in Micro-Tom, which fell rapidly at 15 d after anthesis and then continually increased until the fruit maturation (Fig. 1-A and B). With a sharp rise in S. chmielewskii fruits at 45 d after anthesis, sucrose
content appeared a maximum value. However, there was no obvious change of the sucrose content in Micro-Tom fruits. Besides, the dynamic change of starch content decreased with the development in Micro-Tom fruits, and first rose then fell in S. chmielewskii fruits, peaking at 25 d after anthesis (Fig. 1-C and D).The form of carbohydrate accumulation in Micro-Tom fruits was mainly fructose and glucose, which was consistent with the previous research conclusion (Daphne and Arthur 1991), while in S. chmielewskii sucrose was mainly accumulated.
