5.4. Tuning the surveying procedure
One of the biggest advantages of close-range remote sensing
technologies such as TLS and SfM is that they can be used to obtain
large amounts of dense data without any physical contact with the
outcrop. Consequently, it might seem paradoxical, especially for
photogrammetric modeling, to use a surveying method that requires
numerous control points to be positioned on the rock face.
