5. Discussion and conclusions
The first complete photometric light curves in BVR bands of V1848 Ori were observed during four nights,
using the 0.5-m telescope at Sirindhorn Observatory, Chiang Mai University.
We found eight times of minimum light and positive type O’Connell effect.
The orbital period was confirmed at 0.2663493(±0.0000002) d,similar to that Blättler and Diethelm (2007) reported.
The BVR light curves were used to derive photometric solutions, using W-D method.
The results contributed the temperature of the primary (hotter and more massive) star of 6000 K, with the temperature
difference between the components of about 400 K. The mass ratio of this system was found as 0.7615(±0.0022), with the weakcontact configuration at the fillout factor of f = 13.14%(±1.44%).
The starspots on both components can be explained the magnetic activity for the O’Connell effect.
