The pretest prompted participants to provide basic
demographic information, including their gender, age,
highest level of nursing education, years of RN licensure,
and years of RN experience in pediatric nursing.
Five
pretest questions assessed participants’ knowledge
of
best practices in pediatric infusion therapy. The project
manager presented the educational session, which
incorporated
a slide presentation and case studies.
When
the session was completed, participants took the
posttest,
which included the same 5 questions of the
pretest.
The pre- and posttests were paired and sealed in
an
envelope until the educational sessions were completed
and the data could be reviewed in aggregate.
